The 98th edition of the World Cycling Championships on the road will be organized, for the first time in history, on the African continent. Kigali, Rwanda, will be the host of the important cycling competition, which will take place on September 21-28.

On Sunday, September 21, the World Cycling Championships will start, for the first time, on the African continent, after, over the years, this competition has traditionally held in Europe.

Againing the popularization of this sport globally, the International Cycling Union (UCI) has decided to organize this edition Rwandei, a hard-tried country in the last decade of the last century, when it went through a crunchy genocide.

At the same time, the “country of the 1000 hills” has a tradition in this sport, the first round of Rwanda being organized almost 4 decades ago, in 1988. After 2018, the Rwandei tour was held in Eritrea, Spain, the United Kingdom and France, so that the 98th edition of the World Cycling Championships represents a return of this sport in the country.

Kigali, the capital of Rwandei, will accommodate on September 21-28 several samples on the road, both junior and U23 or seniors. Also, the World Championships will start with the counter -time tests.

Cyclists from all over the world have already started training on the roads in Rwanda, and the images are spectacular. For the country and the whole African continent is a historical moment that is observed in the cadres captured by accredited photos.

Rwanda's inhabitants gathered from small to large and stand on the edges of the roads, looking and looking forward to the beginning of the important cycling competition.

At the same time, the organization of the competition outside Europe also came with great challenges for participants and team staff. They were forced to make different vaccines, including hepatitis A, tetanus, diphtheria, convulsive cough, poliomyelitis, measles, mumps, rubella and thyphoid fever.

Also, the Belgians brought bottled water, established a rule that forbid hands and intend to use sunscreen.
