The National Cyber Security Directorate (DNSC) warned, on Saturday, that “new fraud attempts” appeared on social media platforms.
“A new attempt of fraud propagated through social media networks has been reported, in which the victims receive apparently official messages regarding the confirmation of ownership rights on a managed page,” DNSC wrote on Saturday in a Facebook post.
The institution said that the form “is a false one”.
“In fact, the form transmitted to the victim is a false one that redirects the sensitive data regarding the page to the attackers, with the purpose of disrupting and using it for the propagation of other fraud attempts in the future,” explained DNSC.
The recommendations made by DNSC:
- Do not access links from suspicious messages, especially from unknown people
- If you have doubts about the situation of your page, enter directly to the official website of the social network, not by the link in the message
- Never provide passwords, OTP codes, or other authentication data by suspicious forms.
- Reports the suspicious content to DNSC: https://pnrrisc.dnsc.ro
- Be vigilant, protect your data and limit the spread of fraud attempts
