The security device for the head of the Government of Rome, Giorgia Meloni, and for his deputy prime ministers, Antonio Tajani and Matteo Salvini, was consolidated following the assassination of the American conservative activist Charlie Kirk, government sources said on Thursday for the Italian press agency Ansa, confirming a story of the daily.

At the leadership of the Government in 2022, Giorgia Meloni and its allies have opted for a secondary level protective device.

But the recent assassination in the USA of the ideologically close activist of Meloni's orientation has led to the decision to strengthen this device, after the Italian Ministry of Interior issued a circular on Friday ordering the “revision and possibly to strengthen the measures from the risk profiles”, according to Agerpres.

The decision was confirmed on Thursday by Deputy Prime Minister Antonio Tajani, who is also the head of Italian diplomacy.

“I have always said that we have to use a different language to prevent inflammation of the spirits. Today, the level of security for the prime minister, for Deputy Prime Minister Salvini and for me he has been increased, which means that the (political) climate is not the best. However, I urge everyone to calm.
