NBS launches the first union in Romania for workers on digital platforms Uber, Bolt, Glovo, Wolt: “Your rights are defended”
The National Trade Union Block (NBS) has announced the launch of the union of workers on digital platforms (SLPD), the first Romanian trade union organization dedicated to workers who work through applications such as Uber, Bolt, Glovo, Wolt or other similar platforms.

According to a statement from the Confederation, taken over by AGERPRES, the union of workers on digital platforms (SLPD) will function as a national union, with branches in all counties of the country, and within it can register both Romanian citizens and foreign citizens working through digital platforms.
“To begin with, the NBS was an initiative group, which will be officially transformed into the union. The accession can be completed online and sent to: [email protected]. Also, the Statute project of the union is already prepared, which will be finalized by the General Assembly of the organization”,, is shown in the statement.
“Uber has released 51,422 badges, and Bolt 54,480. The total is almost equal to the number of employees paid by the largest employers in the country: about 110,000. If you work through the two digital platforms, the national trade union block invites you in the first in the national union of workers on Digital platforms! Your interests are represented in front of employers and status! ”, transmits the national trade union block.
The goals of the new union include
– the defense of the members in front of the platforms and intermediaries;
– clarification of the legal status of workers on platforms;
– the proposal of correct fiscal regulations and ensuring access to social protection systems (health, pensions, unemployment, medical leave);
– starting the collective negotiations at the platform level;
– representation of workers as a social partner recognized in the dialogue with the Government of Romania and his ministries;
– negotiation of collective benefits, such as advantageous insurance packages or agreements with gas stations, etc.
Those who become members of the union will benefit from representation in relation to digital platforms and intermediaries, promotion of interests in social and institutional dialogue, supporting correct and equitable legislative steps, but also support and defense before authorities and employers.
