The United States works intensively for peace, and the war will end not on the battlefield, but at the negotiating table – said US President Donald Trump in sending a video to participants of the Yalta conference of the European Strategy (YES). According to Trump, his administration works better for peace than the team Joe Biden did.

“Over the past three months, we have achieved more progress towards peace than Joe Biden for three years (…) I hope that we will be able to stop the murder and bring the world to peace,” said Trump on Saturday to the participants of the Kiev conference “How to end war”.

The US President again described as a fruitful meeting with Russian leader Vladimir Putin in August in Alaska and as a very positive peak organized a few days later with the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelnski and European leaders in the White House.

A special representative of the US President Keith Kellogg, who personally took part in the YES conference stated that The regulation of the war unleashed by Russia against Ukraine turned out to be much more difficult than expected. He added, however, that he remains an optimist as to the prospects of such a solution thanks to the determination of Ukrainian defenders, the growing unity of Western partners and the leadership of Donald Trump.

According to Kellogg, taking into account the heroism of Ukrainians, security guarantees for Ukraine do not rely on the presence of Western land forces, but in support measures: logistics, air, intelligence, in which the US is strong. At the same time, a special representative of Trump added that to ensure these guarantees, you need to achieve a weapon suspension – and this is a key point for the future.

In terms of support, Kellogg stated that Such a strong alliance of Europe and the US has not been since World War II, emphasizing the contribution of the leaders of Great Britain, France, Germany and Italy.

“It is not Ukrainians who are an obstacle in progress (to peace). Vladimir Putin is an obstacle, Russia is an obstacle to achieving this goal. And I say that it is difficult because we are trying to make both sides to cooperate. President Trump is devoted to this,” explained Kellogg.

He reminded that Paris peace negotiations regarding the end of the Vietnam war lasted for years, but in his opinion talks on the end of Russia's war against Ukraine are on the last straight and that is why they are so difficult. “This is the hardest part of the fight. We are on the last 10 yards. But I think we are extremely close,” he noted.

According to the representative of the US president, the heroism of Ukrainian soldiers and the cohesion of the Western alliance should force Putin to sit at the negotiating table and convince him that this is a game of zero. He also clarified that Trump has his own view on what direction he wants to go. “But I think everyone is going in the right direction,” Kellogg summed up.

The YES “YES” YES STRATEGY “How to end the war” conference was organized on Friday and Saturday in Kiev by the Wiktor Pinczuk Foundation.
