A luxurious residence with a bunker on the Black Sea

Here is the Vladimir Putin palace worth billions of dollars with a view of the Black Sea. It has its own casino, hockey ice rink and is surrounded by a special flight ban. Underground tunnels lead to a secret bunker.
– The bunker was built as part of the preparation for the worst scenario. Putin also considered the possibility of a chemical attack – says the journalist, Anastasiia Carrier.
– Putin is also thinking about defense. How can it protect himself against external threats? How can he protect himself from their own people if they decide that they do not want him anymore – says Mattathias Schwartz, a national security consultant.

What does the Putin Palace hide?
Insider analyzed satellite photos, visualizations and photos of Putin's hideout to see how far he could go to ensure survival.
A residence with an area of almost 18 thousand sq m is located near the Gelendżyk resort in southern Russia. It is 1600 km from the official residence of Putin – the great Kremlin Palace in Moscow. Diagrams show that this residence has 11 bedrooms on the surface and an underground bunker with a high level of safety.
The bunker is constructed so that two independent oxygen sources reach it. There is also a tunnel that can be provided with additional supplies
– says the journalist.
The drawing shows Two tunnels hidden in the hill under the residence. They are long for about 40 and 60 m. The cross -sectional drawings show Concrete walls 38 cm thickwhich seem to be resistant to explosions.
Tunnels also have many ventilation shafts in the event of a chemical attack that could pollute the air. Tunnels provide fresh water, resist dirt and have a fire system. They have everything Putin would need to survive for many weeks. There is also a lot of space for storing cables.
There is a lot of space for wires. They can provide electricity. They can be fiber optic, internet or telephone cables. If the worst thing happened, Putin's Palace will not be cut off from communication
– says national security expert.

Vladimir Putin is obsessed with his safety
The elevator shaft connects tunnels. The bottom contains a movable pavement leading to the beach and the Black Sea, enabling a quick escape. These tunnels were built over 10 years ago. This shows how long Putin is obsessed with his safety.
– It was at a time when Putin met with US presidents, when a fresh start in relations took place. Now we know that he was preparing for a conflict with the West at the back of the head – says Mattathias.
Three -dimensional visualizations also reveal how luxurious this palace is.
There is a huge guest house. There is a church. There is a shisha bar with something that looks like a dance pipe. There is a special dormitory – a separate complex of buildings intended for staff and bodyguards. There is also something that looks at the communication center. There is almost everything you can imagine
– says the expert.

These plans were published on the Internet at the beginning of 2010 by the Russian construction company Metro Style.
– The company was employed as a private contractor for digging bunkers under the Putin Palace. A screenshot of those old patterns that have been circulating among the Russians on dark discussion forums for years – reminds Mattathias.
Anonymous source from these forums called Postman gave them to Insider in May.
– It is a Russian and a member of the group who calls himself the sect of Z. On and his colleagues were against the war and repression of the communities that took place in Russia in recent years – says Anastasiia.

The bunker is not everything. Putin has many properties
Many Russians learned for the first time about the palace in 2021 from a documentary film about the political opponent of Putin Alexei Navalny.
This is not a country house, a dacha or residence. It is a whole city, or rather a kingdom
– said Alexei Navalny.
It is said that the house is privately financed by one of Putin's closest associates.
– The owner of the property on paper is a Russian oligarch. There is evidence that Putin has traveled there many times. Is there a notarial deed with his name, which shows black and white that he is the owner of the house? I'm not sure – admits the expert.
Putin has other similar assets. The Russian media revealed that it has a three -story fishing villa in Finland. A close friend reportedly built this residence for Putin worth $ 3.2 million. It is to have a position for protection, a basement with wine and a billiard room. And that's not all.

– Many public funds are allocated to the construction and renovation of various types of bunkers and tunnels throughout Russia. This money could be used for something better. For example, to make Russia a better place and help Ukrainians rebuild their country after the damage caused by Russia – says the journalist.
Leaders of all countries with nuclear weapons are developing emergency plans. The US government has a hideout under the White House. At Camp David there is an analgesic shelter, and in Mount Weather Nuclear Bunker. However, Putin's palace is different.
“His goal is to ensure the continuity of one person,” Putina. He focuses on him and keep him alive. Putin, however, will not live forever, but it is very unlikely that the palace is inherited by another Russian leader – says Mattathias Schwartz, national security consultant.
