A drone was discovered on the North Beach in Burgas, writes the Bulgarian press on Friday. The police intervened after several people reported the unmanned aircraft, according to Novinite.
The object, almost a meter, was strongly corroded, with the back and the missing right wing, indicating that it spent a lot of time in the sea.
There were no visible signs of identification on the drone, and the authorities stressed that it was not a threat to the public.
The appeal regarding a suspicious object, similar to a drone, floating in the sea, was received around 9:36, after which the area was secured.
Military experts were sent to evaluate and recover the device. A specialized team from the Burgas naval base made a complete recognition, confirming that the drone did not contain explosives and did not represent a danger.

Following the evaluation and with the approval of the Chief of General Staff of the Navy, as well as in coordination with the regional governor of the Burgas and the head of the defense, the drone was safely transported to the Burgas naval base.
Bulgarian security services are currently working to determine its origin and purpose.
