Jarosław Kaczyński asks for financial support for PiS. “The only chance for Poland is our win in the election”

The only chance for Poland is PiS winning in the election, which is why I am forced to ask for financial support – said President Jarosław Kaczyński on Friday. He added that the collected money would be allocated, among others to organize on October 11 in Warsaw a march against illegal migration.

Kaczyński during the Friday press conference emphasized that in connection with the upcoming events organized by PiS and not paying his party a significant part of the subsidy from the state budget, he was forced to ask supporters to make donations to the grouping.

– Our party does not receive money from the state budget, and more precisely the vast majority of what we deserve, (…) and the election campaign is ahead of us, but also a march against the migration pact – he said. As he noted, the money he receives from the subsidy, “is not enough for the current functioning of the party.”

The PiS president emphasized that the march, which is scheduled for October 11 in Warsaw, aims to oppose the EU migration pact, but also a European Union agreement with Mercosur countries. – This is extremely important, not only for the Polish countryside, but simply for Poland as a whole – he argued. He added that at the end of October PiS plans to organize the Great Program Congress, and later “a series of smaller congresses”.

– There is one chance for Poland at the moment. This opportunity is the victory of Law and Justice (in parliamentary elections). That is why I am asking for support this path to victory – he concluded.

The case of the PiS subsidy began in August last year, when the PKW rejected the financial statement of this party from parliamentary elections in 2023. The Commission showed irregularities in spending funds on a campaign in the amount of PLN 3.6 million. Consequently, the Ministry of Finance reduced the payment of subsidies for the elections and subsidies from the budget at 2024. The party appealed against this resolution, and the Chamber of Extraordinary Control and Public Affairs of the Supreme Court, in which the duties are, among others Considering complaints about the resolutions of the PKW, she recognized this complaint.

For this reason, the PKW adopted the financial statement of Jarosław Kaczyński's party, but it noted that it does not determine whether Iknisp SN is a court and does not prejudge the effectiveness of its decision. Then the head of the Ministry of Finance Andrzej Domański asked the PKW to interpret the resolution, because – in his opinion – it was “internally contradictory”. Pursuant to the judgments of the Court of Justice of the European Union and the European Court of Human Rights, IKNISP SN is not a court. Its status is questioned both by the current government and most legal environments.

According to the Act on political parties, a request to pay subsidies, together with the current statement from the records of political parties, is submitted to the Minister of Finance via PKW. The subsidy is paid each year of the parliamentary term, in four quarterly tranches. The tranche is paid in the month after the quarter, for which it is paid. On April 23, PKW decided to postpone the decision for the next meeting. (PAP)
