Official statement NBU regarding the International Investment Bank (MIB) verification.
The National Bank denied accusations of “political persecution” through checking JSC “MIB”. The statement states that the planned verification is planned in December 2024 and is carried out within the law.
The purpose of the audit is the activity of the bank itself, not its customers. The NBU does not interfere with the activities of NGOs or companies, and did not send them any requests. If the bank asks additional documents, it is its initiative.
The Central Bank emphasizes its independence, confirmed by international partners, and considers public accusations an attempt to pressure the regulator. The check continues in regular mode.
