In the Government meeting on Thursday, there is a point that refers to the release of prefects or sub -prefects. According to HotNews sources, it is the prefect from Iași, Luciana Antoci, called PNL six months ago.

The prefect is the representative of the Government in the territory and, according to the negotiation between PSD and PNL, in Iași the post has now returned to the party led by Ilie Bolojan. Luciana Antoci, who will be changed from office, was named prefect in March this year.

“She is released from office because she comes to a post at the center,” government sources explained for Hotnews.

The local publication 7iași writes, citing local sources from the PNL, that Luciana Antoci will be appointed counselor of Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan in the field of education.

The appointment comes in the context in which Monday, September 8, for the first 35 years, the first day of school has been held, in many schools, without festivities. More than 10,000 teachers from all over the country protested, for about six hours, first in Victoriei Square, then at the Cotroceni Palace, where they arrived, crossing the Basarab bridge, as in 2023.

Who is Luciana Antoci

Before holding the position of prefect, Luciana Antoci was a general school inspector in Iași between 2021-2025, according to his CV, published on the Iasi Prefecture's website.

Previously, he was also deputy general school inspector for one year. Since 2003 she has been a Romanian language and literature teacher at the “Grigore Moisil” Theoretical High School in Iași.

Luciana Antoci has a doctorate in the field of education sciences, obtained at the “AI Cuza” University in Iași.
