Prime Minister Donald Tusk informed at an extraordinary government meeting that he met with President Karol Nawrocki twice, and the last meeting took place at 6.30.
“This is the first case when the Russian drones were shot down over the territory of the NATO state, which is why the situation is treated very seriously by all our partners” – emphasized the prime minister.

Tusk pointed out that No victims have been reported, and the remains of shot down drones are currently underway. He added that the airports are gradually opened – their earlier closing was not due to the direct threat of attack, but was forced by the operational needs of Polish pilots.
During the extraordinary meeting of the Council of Ministers, Prime Minister Donald Tusk emphasized that In connection with the night violation of the Polish airspace, the security procedures worked correctly, and the drones, which were a direct threat, were shot down. The head of government pointed out that the decision -making process went smoothly.

The meeting was convened in response to a violation of airspace by Russian drones, which took place during the Russian Federation attack on Ukraine. The Prime Minister informed that the first part of the meeting was attended by generals who provided detailed information about the incident.
“There was a violation of the airspace by a large number of Russian drones. Those that pose a direct threat were shot down” – said Tusk.
He added that the threat was effectively eliminated thanks to the definite attitude of commanders, soldiers, pilots and allies.
