The disclosure was made by Nottinghamire Live, and this morning the police in Nottinghamshire issued an official statement.

A suspect is about to appear in court after being accused of making an indecent image with a child. David Coote, 43, was charged following an investigation by the Nottinghamire police. The accusation refers to a video file recovered by investigators in February this year.

David Coote, protagonist in several scandals

David Coote was fired in December last year by PGMol, after the previous month had appeared a video in which he seriously offended Jurgen Klopp, the former coach of Liverpool, in July 2020.

He was also suspected of having helped some bettors, giving cards to certain players.

In February, Coote was also suspended by UEFA, after appearing in another video in which he was surprised to take a white substance, which was believed to be cocaine, with the help of a banknote, while in Germany, at the European Championship in 2024.

In January of this year, Coote confessed in an interview with The Sun is homosexual and that he was struggling for a lifetime to hide this, motivating that because of this he had the nervous exit to Klopp, as well as the call for Dorugir.

My sexual orientation is not the only reason that brought me in that situation. But I would not tell an authentic story if I did not mention that I am gay and that I faced real difficulties in hiding it. I hid my emotions when I was a young referee, just as I hid my sexual orientation, a good quality as a referee, but a terrible one as a human being. And this led me to a whole series of behaviors.
