Portugal champion, Sporting Lisbon, defeated Dinamo in the first stage of the Champions League groups for men's handball, score 30-33. At the break it was equal, 15-15, but the second part belonged to the Lusititans.

Dinamo and Sporting are part of Group A. In the same series, from the same time, Aalborg and Veszprem, score 32-28.

The dynamovists started the game extraordinarily, led by 7-4, but could not maintain the rhythm. With the white-red defense repeatedly outdated, the Lusitanians melted the handicap and entered the advantage, the biggest difference in the first half being 3 goals.
