The Russian iskander rocket that hit the Ukraine's ministers' office building contained over 30 components made abroad, Vladislav Vlasiuk Presidential Commissioner said on September 8.

This revelation highlights the continuous presence of Western technology in Moscow weapons, despite the years of sanctions.

The September 7 attack was the biggest air attack since the beginning of the large -scale invasion, Russia launching 810 shahed drones and 13 cruise and ballistic missiles on Ukraine cities.

Vlasiuk said that Ogiva Iskander did not explode after hitting the cabinet building, probably because of the damage suffered during the flight, but the rocket fuel caused a fire.

Dozens of foreign components

According to the official, a similar rocket examined by Ukrainian experts contained 35 components manufactured in the US, along with individual pieces from Japan, UK and Switzerland.

Five components were produced in Belarus and 57 in Russia.

Identified companies include Texas Instruments, Analog Devices and Altera (USA); College Electronics Ltd. (UK); Fujitsu (Japan); and Traco Power (Switzerland). Integral from Belarus and several Russian companies, including Mikron and Angstrem, were also included in the list.

“Compared to the rackets of previous years, there are fewer components in Europe and the US and more in Russia and Belarus,” said Vlasiuk, adding that Kiev has shared conclusions with international partners to track sanctions.

While Western countries have forbidden the export of many double use components to Russia, Moscow has adapted to sanctions, based on smuggling networks and other schemes to obtain restricted goods.

Vlasiuk previously mentioned that most of the foreign pieces found in the Russian weapons used on the Ukraine's battlefield come from China.

Kyiv-Washington discussions

The head of the Ukrainian Presidential Administration, Andrii Iermak, announced that he had discussed Sunday's attack – the first of its kind in over three years of war – with the head of American diplomacy, Marco Rubio.

“For the first time, the enemy attacked the Ukrainian government building-an attack with a Balician Iskander missile,” Jermak wrote, in a message published on the social network X.

The powerful iskander rocket has been widely used by Russia, so far, against other targets in Ukraine.

The ministers' office, located in the central government district of Kiev, was one of the seven objectives hit in the Capital that night.

The EU ambassador in Ukraine, Katarina Mathernova, said the building was not just because Ogiva did not explode.

Iskander is a Russian system of short -range ballistic missiles, with a radius of up to 500 kilometers, designed for precision blows against military and infrastructure. Can handle during flight to avoid anti -aircraft defense.
