The crisis in France is more serious than it seems. “The system has reached boundaries”

Nothing works in France – trade unions call to several days strikes that can paralyze the whole country.
The reason is the savings funds announced by the government, which on Monday evening cost the position of Prime Minister Francois Bayrou and his office. President Emmanuel Macron found himself in a difficult situation: to stop the further increase in the popularity of right -wing populists gathered around Marine Le Pen, he must take unpopular actions.
Bayrou only held the office from December 2024 and was the fourth prime minister for the presidency of Macron in three years. On Monday afternoon he lost voting on a vote of trust in parliament. 364 MPs voted against the government, and only 194 MPs expressed trust. It is primarily the left and right -wing populists that led to the fall of the government.
Bayrou was plunged by savings that he wanted to introduce because huge debt of the state. In 2026, savings of EUR 44 billion (PLN 186 billion) and the abolition of two holiday days were planned. It is about Easter Monday and May 8, when the end of World War II is celebrated.
Bayrou wanted to lower the gross debt with his center -right minority coalition. In 10 years it increased from 97 to 113 percent. gross domestic product. In the EU, only Greece (153 percent) and Italy (135.3 percent) have a higher debt ratio.
It's a pity for all of Europe
Where is the problem? French expert Gilbert Casasus sees him in two places. – Politicians are not aware of the seriousness of the crisis. France is experiencing a business crisis, but structuralwhich most French denies – he says. On the other hand, Macron failed to achieve the compromise he propagated between the left and the right. – He was more and more inclined to conservatives, which in the long run could not end well Casasus notes.
The crisis in France has an impact on all of Europe. Casasus describes Macron as “an experienced European leader with above -average ability to force your ideas.” Therefore, the politically weakened French President would have a negative impact on the entire European policy, which is in the cross of Russia, China and the United States. “Aggressive and chaotic paralysis harms both France and the European economy,” says the expert.
Several trade unions called to “Bloquons Tout”, or paralyzing the whole country. The strike may last until Friday, and some relationships also want to mobilize next week on Thursday and Friday. As in 2018, during the protests of yellow vests, the risk of riots appeared.
The strike will affect, among others Railway traffic, flights, airport service and buses. Police, fire brigades, hospitals, hotels, gas stations and highway charges are also possible. Drivers have to take into account road locks by drivers and farmers, as well as demonstrations in cities.

Scenarios for France
Swiss border regions will also feel the crisis. For example, when commuters will not be able to get to work or you will not be able to deliver goods.
There are several scenarios thanks to which Macron could get out of this situation. Conducting is considering new elections. However, Macron wants to prevent this at all costs, because it would strengthen the position of the National Union of Marine Le Pen, as well as the left.
“Macron will do everything to stay in power until 2027 and co -order the country until the end of his term,” believes Casasus. The president will try to gain the support of “rather bland” socialists. An alternative would also be to create a technocratic government, which, however, is rare in France.
According to Casasus, repeated crises in France result from the V System of the V Republic, introduced in 1958 by General Charles de Gaulle. It allows, as today, the president does not have a parliamentary majority and thus not able to shape the future of the country with the help of a stable and reliable government.
– The latest crisis shows that France's political system has reached its limits – says Casasus.
