The messages consisted of code words in Russian and numerical combinations, among which were “NZHTI”, “hotel” and numbers 38, 965, 78, 58, 88, 37 – presumably coordinates. Experts believe that the signal can serve as an emergency in case of nuclear war.
Professor David Stopples from the University of London suggested that the Russian government could not use the station “not for peaceful purposes.” Amateur radio operators and independent researchers have long been interested in UVB-76, known for their monotonous signal, which from time to time interrupt mysterious voices and numerical codes.
An independent radio monitor from Holland Eri Bonder, managing the Numbers Oddites website, said that, according to various statements, UVB-76 can “launch a nuclear attack on the west”, be a “self-entrustation lighthouse for UFOs” or “a device for controlling consciousness, with which Russians can program the mind.” In the past, some argued that with the help of the station they allegedly led the Chernobyl nuclear power plant.
The newspaper recalled that this station has been working on short waves since the Cold War and is located about 30 km from Moscow. It is considered part of the secret military network, presumably related to the command of nuclear forces.
Previous signals were broadcast in significant moments: for example, during the telephone conversation of US President Donald Trump with the illegitimate President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin on May 19. Then UVB-76 transmitted two encoded messages: “Nzhti 89905 BLEFOPUF 4097 5573”, and after a few hours-“NZHTI 01263 Boltka 4430 9529”.
