This is one of the most interesting initiatives in recent years that both companies and their employees can benefit from. In August, the Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Policy (MRPiPS) launched a pilot program aimed at Testing short working time in various models. Employers from all over Poland, both from the private and public sectors, can report to it.
– The pilot is to answer the question of whether and how to shorten working time while maintaining the same salary. Any employer, large, small, private or public institution can report to the program. Importantly, we do not impose one model of shortening working time-says Agnieszka Dziemianowicz-Bąk, a family minister, work and social policy.

Who has a chance for subsidies?
Entrepreneurs who want to report to the pilot should propose – and design – original models of work organization adapted to the realities of their companies. How much can you get?
High funding encourages to participate in the program – the employer may receive for any employee covered by the pilot up to 20 thousand zloty. However, the company can get a total of all employees up to PLN 1 million. The order of submitting applications in the recruitment does not matter. It is worth adding that this is the first initiative of this type in Central and Eastern Europe.
What conditions should be met?
To participate in the pilot, specific criteria must be met. Here is their list:
- Running a company for at least 12 months before the date of submission of the application.
- Employing at least 75 percent employees under an employment contract, appointment, selection, appointment or cooperative employment contract.
- Covering the project at least 50 percent employees.
- Maintenance of employment at a level not lower than 90 percent. specified in the application of the initial state.
- Maintaining the remuneration of employees participating in the pilot project at a level not lower than the pilot project in force on the day of starting (throughout its duration).
- Lack of deterioration of the working conditions and pay of employees covered by the project.

What the application must contain
Application for the program is fully electronic. Entrepreneurs submit and send an application with the help of a special generator available on the MRPiPS website. The application should include:
- project description,
- his goals and assumptions,
- efficiency meters,
- statements about the legal and financial situation of the company, including on systematic and timely completion of surveys, non -arrears with payments for employees, lack of tax arrears and in paying social security contributions, non -arrears with paying other public tributes and the lack of civil law liabilities unregulated within the time limit.
What can subsidies be allocated to?
The company that will receive funding will be able to spend it on:
- Service costs, e.g. information and promotional activities, costs related to project service, including: coordinating, recruitment of participants, monitoring, evaluation and accounting. Importantly, service costs cannot exceed 10 percent. value of the complex project.
- Substantive costs, For example, research, analyzes or expert opinions on how to implement short working time and employee expectations in this area, trainings for employees related to the tested solution, financing the optimization and automation of key processes for the possibility of shortening working time or co -financing the remuneration of employees covered by the pilot.
The recruitment and announcement of the list of projects qualified for piloting should take place – as the recruitment organizers assure – until October 15. After the recruitment results will be published, there will be a stage of signing contracts.
What is the interest in the program?
The pilot was divided into three stages: preparatory (until the end of 2025)test (all of 2026) and the summary, which will last until May 2027. The program is financed from the Labor Fund. A total of PLN 50 million is to be allocated to its implementation by 2027.
