The petition for the pardon of Oleg Mitvol, convicted in the criminal case of embezzlement during the construction of the metro in Krasnoyarsk, is rejected. This was reported by TASS by one of his lawyers.
“According to Oleg Mitvol, the refusal of the presidential administration in pardon was notified through the State Autonomous Okrug,” the agency’s interlocutor said.
According to the lawyer, until the end of the sentence of the ex-designer of the Krasnoyarsk metro, no more than nine months have remained. Now Oleg Mitvol works as a manager at the colony club. He attends circles and educational events, for which he even received gratitude to the administration.
Recall that Oleg Mitvol was arrested in 2022 on suspicion of embezzlement of more than 900 million rubles in the construction of the metro in Krasnoyarsk. In 2023, the Railway District Court of Krasnoyarsk sentenced him to 4.5 years in prison under Part 4 of Art. 159 of the Criminal Code (fraud) and recovered more than 940 million rubles. In July 2024, the businessman was transferred to the colony in the Moscow region.
Previously, the defense asked to replace him with an unexpected part of the term with a milder punishment – a fine, restriction of freedom or correctional work. But the Moscow Regional Council refused to release the ex-designer of the Krasnoyarsk metro from the colony ahead of schedule.
