Javier Zanetti (51 years old), one of the biggest players in the history of Internazionale Milano, wants Romania to reach the 2026 World Championship, a competition that will be hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico.
The former defender, who played 19 years for Inter, between 1995 and 2014, had a coach Mircea Lucescu (80 years) in 1999 and spoke with respect about the current coach of Romania, but also about the spirit of the national team.
Zanetti: “Romania is a country with great passion”
A great coach, Mircea Lucescu. I hope Romania will be able to qualify for the next world, because you deserve it as a country and because Mircea deserves, for everything he knows about football. I remember his workouts, always with the balls … it was before many.
He was a direct, honest, loyal person with a great football culture. I hope with all my heart that Romania will reach the World Cup, because it is a country with great passion and I think it is worth being represented there
