When buying in shops, at fairs or bazaars Kostel, Lobo, Jonagolda, Reneta or Antonówka, unfortunately you have to prepare for higher apple prices. Maybe every day there is no attention to how fast and how many amounts grow on receipts, but in an annual basis it is a big difference.

Apple prices in 2025. Compared to analogous amounts from 2024, they are twice as high. Currently, you have to pay up to eight zlotys for a kilo of popular fruit varieties. The increase in fruit prices for which Poland is famous for has several reasons. As Radio ZET notes, above all, the spring frosts were a huge problem, which greatly influenced this year's fruit harvest.
Negative temperatures in the spring months were decimated by plantations and crops, which naturally translated into higher prices that the fruit growers expect.
Apple prices in Poland soaked up. Even twice as expensive than a year ago
In addition to frosts, which in spring attacked Polish orchards, the weather also set other problems in front of the fruit growers. It is true that summer was not hot, but most of the months were scanty in rainfall, which caused drought in the country. This additionally hindered the achievement of the desired collections. Variable and adverse conditions for apple crops translated into the quantity and quality of the harvest of these fruits.

Although higher prices in theory should compensate for the losses suffered by fruit growers, they would actually prefer to make the crops higher. As Radio ZET notes, experts expect a decrease in apple prices at the end of September, because later fruit varieties will ripen. This, in turn, can bring relief to customers who will pay less for apples that are grown in Poland.
