In July, PKP Intercity opened offers submitted in the procedure for the purchase of 42 two-level electric traction units with a 30-year maintenance period and the option of additional order of another 30 vehicles.
The offers were presented by two producers: Alstom Polska, with a factory in Chorzów, and Stadler Polska with the plant in Siedlce. After verifying the offers, the carrier indicated the most advantageous, i.e. Poland proposed by Alstom, which valued 42 trains at PLN 4.1 billion, and their maintenance – at nearly PLN 2.8 billion. The second offer amounted to PLN 4 billion for vehicles and 3.3 billion for their maintenance. The selected offer is cheaper by almost PLN 400 million.
