The publication notes that there is no unequivocal answer to the question of who more often becomes the initiator of the divorce – a man or woman, as it depends on the circumstances.
The number of divorces also depends on other factors, such as geographical position or cultural norms. To avoid a divorce, it is important to solve problems in relations as early as possible, not allowing them to go into the category of insoluble and become one of the reasons for the divorce.
The authors of the material recalled that divorce is one of the worst trials emotionally, but sometimes it is inevitable and beneficial.
Context
In the first six months of 2025, Ukrainians broke almost 39 thousand marriages through the courts, which is three times more than in the registration authorities of acts of civil status (RAGS). About this on August 28 informed Open Data Service Opendatabot with reference to a unified state register of court decisions (search engine “Granny”).
The absolute leader of this year in the number of torn marriages in Ukrainian ships, representatives of the service called the Dnipropetrovsk region – 5188 pairs were divided, or 13%.
The three regions with the largest number of marriages torn through the courts, information about which are in the register, also included Kyiv (3544 decisions) and Odessa region (3121).
Since the fall of 2025, Ukrainians will be able to arrange a divorce in the “DIA” application.
