The police in Voluntari were notified on Sunday by 112 by a woman of being threatened by the former concubine with acts of violence. Following the checks, a protection order was issued on behalf of the man. According to judicial sources, quoted by News.ro and Agerpres, it is Oana Mizil, who complained to former partner Marian Vanghelie.

The Ilfov County Police Inspectorate said on Monday that on August 31, around 3:19 am, they were notified by the emergency number by a woman, about the fact that, during the same day, while at his home in the city of Voluntari, he was threatened by the former concubine with acts of violence.

Following the checks made by the police officers who went to the scene, “it turned out that there is an imminent risk, for which against the 57-year-old man was issued a provisional protection order,” the source quoted.

The investigations in this case are continued by the police, in an open criminal case for threat, under the supervision of a case prosecutor within the Prosecutor's Office attached to the Buftea Court.

The woman who called the police is, according to judicial sources quoted by News.ro and Agerpres, Oana Mizil, the former partner of Marian Vanghelie. And the former mayor of Sector 5 is the man on whose behalf a protection order was issued.

In July 2021, former PSD deputy Oana Mizil arrived at the hospital. She said she was assaulted by Marian Vanghelie, her then partner. He was accused of domestic violence, and the police issued a five -day restriction order against him.

Vanghelie, ten years of trials and 10 judges

This year the former mayor of Sector 5 escaped the sentence of 11 years and 8 months of prison received at the substantive court, in the file in which he was accused of taking bribes, abuse in service and money laundering, after the Bucharest Court of Appeal ordered the payment or termination of the criminal trial as a result of the prescription.

Marian Vanghelie was sent to court in July 2015 by the DNA, on the charge that he received a bribe of 30 million euros, and the trial lasted almost ten years, during which ten judges were pervaded.

Vanghelie benefited from the decision of the Constitutional Court of May 2022 on the prescription of the facts, but also to the decisions of the supreme court, which first established that the CCR decision is applied retroactively until 2014, after which, in the case of corruption, the limitation period flows not from the date of receipt of the bribe, but from the date of its date.
