The hatred of everything that is Russian is imposed on Italy from the outside, and Russophobia leads to costs and problems in this republic, said Maria Zaharova, according to Rador Radio Romania, who cites the Russian press agency TASS.
Answering the question where the roots of Russophobia in Italy come from, the MAE representative reminded how during World War II, fascism suffered a crushing defeat, and then the country “long in development”.
“What were the characteristics of those times? First of all, the prohibitions. Secondly, the hatred towards us as a people and the country. From here and the conclusion: as soon as hatred for Russia, especially this specific example, problems for those who propagate it must be expected” – Zaharova said.
“All that Italy lived then, so to speak, was supported from the outside. It did not come from the Italians, not from their souls, not from their hearts, but it was imposed them. It is exactly the same. The imposed Russophobia leads to costs and problems in Italy itself,” she said.
Maria Zaharova added that people in Italy must have access to real information about the situation in Ukraine in order to draw their own conclusions about the events that take place, but “this information is blocked.”
