Camilla Herrem (38 years old), the former player of HCM Baia Mare, received a cruel diagnosis at the end of June, breast cancer. However, the disease did not bring it down and, although completely changed, after chemotherapy belts, it did not give up sports and did not withdraw. On Sunday he played in the first stage of the Norway Championship, and after the match, with tears, he also offered a series of extremely emotional statements.

Camilla Herrem, one of the most valuable handball players in Norway and the world, dressed the Maramureșence T-shirt in the 2014-2015 season. She is now evolving at Sola HK, in Norway, where she is trained by her husband. Even though he received a cruel diagnosis, he did not want to put an absolutely sensational career and started a season, after a few terrible months, in which he started treatment and ran out of hair.

On Sunday, August 31, he played the whole match and scored four times for the soil, at the end of a duel in which it was seen to be extremely excited.

Last Tuesday, the handball player went through the fourth treatment, the one who was the last. Five days later, he was on the ground for Sola in the first victory of the season.

Her team won 29-25 the match on Sunday, against Oppsal, and after the match, visibly excited, with tears, she talked about this return, two months after she was diagnosed with cancer.

“I have the best team in the world around me. Friends, family and Steffen. I wouldn't have done anything without the support I had next to me. It was good that I finished the match. I focused and offered a lot of attention to this match.

To play was an objective I had before. I feel a wave of emotions. I am very happy that I can play handball, it was my refuge. I waited for the whole match to feel the knot in the throat. It went well!

I would not have thought that I could do this two and a half months ago, so the fact that I was still allowed to be on the field, to train and play matches is wonderful for me and my mental condition, “said Herrem, with tears running on the cheek, quoted by TV2.No.

Now, after the chemotherapy sessions, for Herrem follow the Champions League matches. The first opponent will be Podravka on September 6.

“It is completely unreal to play the Champions League with Sola, but, Lord, how much we enjoy. As long as I feel, I want to play as much as possible, but there is an intense time and I will probably have to choose what I do,” Herrem said.

“In the last week he felt pretty good, I think. He responded very well to almost all the treatments and received positive feedback,” said Steffen Stegavik, her husband and coach.
