FRF statement on the decision that will be implemented in the new season
“The Romanian Handball Federation takes an important step for transparency and accessibility: all the matches in the National League, transmitted live online
The Board of Directors of the Romanian Handball Federation adopted, during the ordinary meeting on August 28, 2025, an essential measure for the development of Romanian handball, coming to support the lovers of this sport and the handball community throughout the country.
Starting with season 2025–2026, all clubs in the national leagues: the Mol Flower League and the Zimbrilor League, will have the obligation to transmit the LIVE, online, the matches played on their own ground that are not taken by the media partners of the FRH. These transmissions will be made on the official social media pages of the clubs or on the YouTube platform, respecting the technical standards set by FRH.
This decision is based on the provisions of the media -Marketing Booklet 2025–2026, which clearly stipulates the obligation of the organizing clubs to carry out live transmissions if a match is not produced by the official media partners.
At the same time, in accordance with Article 1.7 of the specifications, FRH may indicate the obligation to transmit the exclusive match on the official youtube channel of the federation and optionally to that of the clubs involved in the nominated game, based on a preliminary notification. The clubs are thus responsible for the technical production of the match, the minimum HD quality assurance, the stability of the signal and the use of the official FRH graphics package, which includes displaying the score and the game time.
This initiative is part of the FRH strategy to increase the visibility of national leagues, to strengthen the public connection and to support the professionalization of the activity at the club level ”, the statement sent by the FRH shows.
This is a natural measure, a gesture of normality in the digital era, which brings handball closer to the public. It is a form of respect for supporters and an opportunity for clubs to promote their values and image. We want a more transparent, more accessible and more connected handball with its audience
