Ministers of Defense of EU countries discussed security guarantees that their countries can grant Ukraine to maintain a suspension of weapons or peace.
Zalewski, reporting the position of Poland, emphasized that Poland sticks to the fact that he would not send troops to Ukraine and would not participate in land operation. “Nobody expects it today,” he added.
However, as the deputy head of the Ministry of National Defense said, the guarantees prepared as part of the Coalitions of Volunteers assume the presence of European troops in Ukraine and the operation of protecting the Ukrainian sky, which will be possible after the end of Russian-Ukrainian fights.
– Poland in this operation will play a key role because it will create opportunities for creating bases, facilities for those troops that will be in Ukraine, and will organize logistics for these troops, as well as provide airports for aircraft that will protect the Ukrainian sky from Poland – he noted.
– Without what Poland offers, there will be no security guarantees, so the Polish offer is an absolute key to ensuring security guarantees can be implemented – emphasized Zalewski.
