Video surprise near the capital: a section of highway will be ready long before the deadline: “This is the plan, 100% will be given in traffic”

A motorway section at which the work started earlier this year has high chances of being open, partially, almost six months before the deadline. Part of the A0 Belt Highway of the Capital, the northern segment, the section that will connect DN1A near the DN1 Moșoşoaia from Corbeanca will be ready in May 2026, at least so the authorities hope.

The 18 km from the North A0, Lot 1 from DN1 until the continuation to A1 is the remaining section of the A0 Belt Highway. The project, contracted with the Italian-Romanian association Impress Pizzarotti-Retter Management, received a green wave of construction in January.

The official completion term is the end of 2026, and once completed it will be the last piece of puzzle that will form the A0 highway of almost 100 kilometers that surround the capital.

“They started working seriously, they mobilized”

“The Romanian builder (Nr Retter Management) deals with the construction of the 8 km sector between Buftea-DN1A and Corbeanca, towards DN1. The announced plan is that they will finish it in April-May.

“Yes, this is the plan, to be ready in the spring. We do not know if it will be right in April, but in safer, 100% will be ready, it will be given in traffic from DN1, from where is the piece that is already completed, to DN1A, to Buftea, there are about 8 km. close to the builder.

The accomplishment of the works in advance compared to the contractual term could be possible, says the source consulted, and due to the fact that the 8 km have a low degree of difficulty, having no important structure along them, except a passage through which it passes over DN1A.

In fact, the only bigger bridges that the builders have to execute are on the rest of the lot, from DN 1A to the continuation of A0 to the intersection with A1, where the Italian company deals. Specifically, the builders have to execute a bridge through which the highway will overcome the Bucharest – Pitești railway, and further another long bridge through which the highway passes both over DN7 and over the Bucharest – Pitești railway.

At the northeast end of the section, near the town of Corbeanca, the section executed by Retter will be connected to the piece that exists and currently, two kilometers of highway remaining the museum since the OM has completed the adjacent section (lot 2) in 2023.

Pro Infrastructure: “It is possible, but it will be very difficult for them”

“On the North Corbeanca-Mogoșoaia in May 2026, we hope,” confirms the Pro Infrastructure Association in a position transmitted hotnews.ro. The Association, one of the most active organizations in the civil society that monitors the implementation of the big infrastructure projects and filmed from the drone as the North A0 yard shows, lot 1.

API considers that the partial opening, before the deadline, between the nodes with DN1A (Mogoșoaia-Buftea) and DN1 (Corbeanca) would be possible in an “optimistic scenario”.

“It is possible, but it will be very difficult, considering that at the A0 passage over the DN1A, it has only recently started drilling the pilots of the first. To be ready at the end of May 2026, it takes 9 months with good weather, a lot of work and a stable cashflow.

“On the other piece, to A1, the Italians from Pizzarotti work on the road side. The structures are also made by those from Retter who are currently focused on the DN1A-DN1 segment and the large passages over DN7 and the railway. As it is, being the critical points of the highway,” the association also details.

“We welcome the decision of the builders to inaugurate the section. The section is demonstrated in the field that it is not a promise thrown in the wind, but a clear objective. We will see if they will succeed. It is certain that there is a great chance to respect the term assumed by the contract and at the end of next year we will travel uninterrupted on the highway,”
