At Business Insider Polska, we decided to estimate the level of gross monthly salary, which allows you to enter each of the three “clubs” mentioned above. Below we present specific amounts regardless of the form of earnings. We take into account both full -time employees and entrepreneurs or persons working on the basis of civil law contracts.
At the beginning, however, it is worth realizing what group we are talking about. We do not include children and pensioners. Because although among them there could be a single millionaires, they would be exceptions.
For simplicity So we focus only on people of working agewhich less than 22 million live in Poland. This is the result of the CSO data published in the latest report “Poland in numbers”. It means more or less that:
- 10 % club The best -paid has about 2.2 million people
- 5 % club The best -paid has about 1.1 million people
- 1 percent club The best -paid has about 220 thousand people.
With a nearly 38 million country it is still an elite, but still a group much wider than the list of the richest “Forbes”. Equally important, We focus on earnings in our estimates. For simplicity, we do not count the propertywhich is a key issue for many billionaires.
What is quite important, you don't have to be a millionaire to get even the narrowest of the three clubs above. According to the treasury data, at least PLN 1 million in our country earns PLN 44,000 a year. people. These are barely 2 per mille of working Poles. So there is still a place for those who have lower wages.
Earnings 10 percent the richest Poles
Well, let's start with the most numerous of these three clubs. Here, the situation is relatively simple, because recently the Central Statistical Office has been publishing such data every month.
The latest comes from August 2024. We will find information in them that for 10 percent the richest ones are already entitled to earnings at the level 12 thousand 831 PLN 67 gross gross per month. It gives less than 154 thousand. PLN per year. On hand at the employment contract it is about 9.1 thousand. PLN per month and 107 thousand PLN per year.
However, this is the data from August 2024. Today we have the end of February 2025. To make our estimates even more current, we decided to check how the salaries grew between August 2023 and February 2024, i.e. a year ago. We had an increase of 8.28 percent.
So if it were the same this year, then at the time of publication of this text to the group of 10 percent. The best -earners would entitle a level of salary 13 thousand 894 PLN 13 gross per month and over 166 thousand PLN per year.
Earnings 5 percent the richest Poles
This club is already half as much as the previous one and has about 1 million Poles of working age. Estimating him is much more difficult, because GUS does not publish such detailed data.
However, the statistics of the Ministry of Finance, and more specifically the National Tax Administration, come to the rescue. It is an annual summary of the PIT settlement campaign, in which Poles' earnings can be seen in black and white.
The latest publication refers to data for 2023. Finally, the tax return for 2024 can only be sent to the treasury for several days. So it cannot be newer data.
According to the settlement for 2023, in Poland Just 5 percent earning Poles exceeded the tax threshold, which has recently been in Poland 120,000. zloty. However, this is not a gross amount, but reduced even by social security contributions or tax deductible costs. After exceeding it, the taxpayer must pay not 12, but 32 percent. tax.
In 2023, in such a situation there was almost exactly 5 percent. all taxpayers. The average income of such a group after deducting contributions was 168 thousand. zloty. This means approx. 215 thousand PLN gross.
Because we wanted to translate this data to today's reality, we multiplied the above amount by the average salary growth rate in 2024 and 2025. In this way, just over 270 thousand came out. PLN gross per year and 22 thousand PLN 543 per month. On hand, this means about 167 thousand, respectively. and 15.7 thousand zloty.
Earnings 1 percent the richest Poles
This is the narrowest group and at the same time definitely the most difficult to estimate. Such data for Poland is not published too often, but once in many years they are the subject of scientists' analysis.
The last such analysis took place in 2021, but was based on data from 2017. It is already a bit archaic. It was on her last year at Business Insider Polska Jacek Frączyk, applying the results of the research to more current data.

Today, after a few years of high inflation and an equally rapid increase in average wages, it would be much higher. However, monthly data on remuneration at the turn of the year, they have a bit disturbing the image. December and January are often the moment of payment of annual prizes and other bonuses that definitely overstate the CSO readings.
So we decided to use the forecast average gross monthly salary, which the government wrote in the budget act in 2025. This is to amount to 8,000. PLN 673. If we multiply them by 5.63, then A salary of 48 thousand will come out. PLN 829 per month and nearly 586 thousand PLN gross annually.
