A City Hall in Dolj has invested over 25 thousand euros in 100 banks for locals. The benches were bought with money from the local budget, while the commune is not connected to the sewerage network, nor to the drinking water, according to Antena 3 CNN.
Several locals have criticized the mayor of Măceșu de Sus, where less than 700 people live.
In the commune of Doljean Măceșu de Sus, the main street has become a real furniture exhibition. Mayor Ciprian Marian Nicu paid for these furniture about 120 thousand lei. Basically, each piece cost 1,200 lei.
“I don't stay, look, I'm sitting on it, it's below. That's what I'm staying, but … I can't get down, I miss my feet. They wanted to get it out of the ground (no: the bank on which the boys were and put it on the other and we didn't want to get it out,” he said.
Another local said: “There was more cleaning, without banks. There are many banks, next to each other, there was one at 3 – 4 houses … There are too many side. And the misery is huge.”
“What we would need … For example, the wells are, indeed … they have been beautifully struck, but it is not drinkable. Than to have taken banks, they better dig another well to be drinking water.
The local television Oltenia 1 also made a report in Măceșu de Sus, noting that the banks were installed before there were sidewalks:
