Kiev emphasizes, however, that attacks on Russia are a response to Russia's constant attacks on Ukraine and are intended to destroy infrastructure considered key to Moscow's general military activities.
The Reuters agency notes that it is not clear in which part of the power plant a fire broke out. Earlier, the Russian Ren TV station informed, citing the press office of the power plant, that the transformer station is located outside the nuclear part of the object.
Kurska Atomic Power Plant is one of the largest in Russia. It is located in about 40,000 residents of the city of Kurczatow in the Kursk region in the West of Russia.
