The politician said that the decision on independence should be made by the people of Greenland.
In recent years, independence movement has been gaining strength on the island. One of the reasons was a forced birth control campaign: from 1966 to 1970, all girls from 13 years old were forcibly installed an intrauterine spiral.
Previously, Trump announced the desire to attach Greenland to the United States.
