Thursday on the Warsaw Stock Exchange brought a delicate advantage of buyers. However, it was large enough to get WIG and SWIG80 for new records of all time. In the center of investors' attention was the quarterly results of Orlen.
WIG gained 1.09% on Thursday and finished the session at 112 002.76 points, thus setting a new record of all time. WIG20 grew by 1.27% and checked in at the level of 3 020.22 points, returning to the “three -thousanders” zone.
Let's add that WIG has gained over 40%since the beginning of the year. If such a result remained until the end of December, then our stock exchange would “twist” the highest annual rate of return from 2009 – 40 percent. This is a spectacular increase, so I think that in the following days you can expect a side trend rather than dynamic growth – said Mariusz Adamiak, director of the PKO BP market strategy office quoted by PAP Biznes.

During the session, the new historical maximum was marked by SWIG80, which, however, finally managed to gain only 0.30%. mWIG40 after an increase of 0.73% reached 8,193.55 points. And just like SWIG slightly improved his historical peak. The turnover on the WSE of the WSE was summarized at less than PLN 1.3 billion, which was a result clearly lower than this year's average.
It is worth noting, however, that for a wide market it was not a particularly successful session, because the number of lowering and increasing values was almost the same. But it was on the more expensive papers that the turnover focused. It is also worth adding that only five companies have achieved at least 52-weekly maximum of quotations.
Among the Blue Chips, Orlen increasing by 3.75%. The Płock giant showed solid six -month results and suggested that he was able to achieve year -round results in accordance with the expectations of stock market analysts. Orlen is a kind of “general” of the current bull market, and his actions have been up to 70%since the beginning of 2025.
It is also worth paying attention to a better sentiment around gaming companies. The CD Project exchange rate increased on Thursday by 3.6%, and the industry benchmark WIG-Gry gained 3.1%. In this segment, there was a nearly 30 % increase in the Vivid Games course. The day before, these qualities increased 28% after information about the contract with Apple regarding the company's preparation of a separate version of the game and the release of the Real Boxing 2 game in the Apple Arcade subscription model.
In turn, without new information in the ESPI channel, Relpol's quotations have dropped to the lowest level for nearly 5 years. Woodpecker.co was the lowest in its nearly 4-year history of quotations. In the SWIG80 index, Rokita PCC papers stood out negatively, the course of which dropped by 3.8%at the end of the session. PCC Rokita on Wednesday after the session published the results for the second quarter. The company's revenues turned out to be 8.2 percent lower than PAP consensus, and net profit was 67 percent. lower than the expectations of analysts.
Data from the Polish economy passed without much echo. The July industrial production surprised positively, which, however, does not change the fact that in the Polish manufacturing sector we are still dealing with stagnation. However, the situation may improve in the coming months, as evidenced by the best PMI readings for the Euro Zone industry for over three years. In addition, the CSO data indicated a clear weakening of wage pressure in the enterprise sector, which in the long run would be good information for many stock exchange companies.
