A Vijelie struck the capital on Friday night, and following the Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (ISU) Bucharest-Ilfov announced dozens of interventions for fallen trees and roads, and several tram lines and bus were temporarily blocked. A person was surprised by a tree collapsed on the sidewalk, in Sector 4.

The victim, with various trauma, conscious, was transported to the hospital. The rescuers in the Capital acted with a special water and foam extinguishing vehicle, a vehicle for unloading and a mobile intensive care unit, ”said IGSU.

According to ISU Bucharest-Ilfov, the crews intervened in several areas of the city for fallen trees and construction elements, notes News.ro.

Public transport was also affected. STB announced:

  • Lines 17 and 36 – blocked at the end of the line Bd. Lake Tei, due to a fallen tree on the contact network
  • Lines 19, 23 and 27 – blocked about 20 minutes on Str. Nerva Traian and Bd. Octavian Goga, respectively on Calea Dudești, due to lack of tension (tree fallen on network)
  • Line 93 – blocked about 20 minutes on Str. Av. Popișteanu, on both directions, because of a fallen tree on the road

Orange Code of Vijelie in Bucharest

The authorities issued a RO-Allert type warning, on Friday, in the Capital, in the context of the orange code warning, which the National Meteorological Administration (ANM) announced for the largest city of the country.

The orange code in Bucharest was in force from 7:20 pm until 20:00. The bursts beat with 70km/h.

“Avoid traveling and take on shelter and self-protection measures,” writes in the author of the authorities.
