Surgery, a stretch and cleaning people – a total of about half a thousand employees will lose employment at the University Clinical Hospital in Wrocław. They will be formally transferred to the new employer – said Gazeta Wyborcza.

The University Clinical Hospital in Wrocław, which is one of the largest medical centers in Poland, eliminates the hospital hygiene and intra -hospital transport department of patients. According to his employees, cited by “Gazeta Wyborcza”, A total of about 500 people will be released – both from the main facility at ul. Borowska, as and Clinic at ul. Skłodowskiej-Curie and the branch in Strzelin. The staff were informed about these plans at the beginning of July.
There will be no group layoffs?

– All employees will be formally transferred to the new employer while maintaining the current working and pay conditions.
This warranty, including ingredients such as the service of years, jubilee awards or social benefits, is legally provided for 12 months – says Tomasz Król, quoted by “Gazeta Wyborcza”.
However, employees are afraid of what will happen to them after a year. They are primarily afraid of lowering wages and worse employment conditions. They also believe that this change will affect patients negatively. That is why many of them do not want to go to a new company.

Also Trade unionists from “Solidarity” are against the decision of the hospital management. They are afraid of, among others loss of direct control over part of its activities, increasing costs, reduction of care standards, difficulties in quality control and deterioration of working conditions.
Work certain for four years?
In turn, according to the WSK Directorate, the decision was preceded by a wide analysis of the medical market throughout Poland. The involvement of a specialized external company is to allow it to transfer responsibility for ongoing adaptation of procedures and processes to changing legal, sanitary and technological requirements. Outsourcing is also to ensure budget predictability. That is why a tender for a subcontractor with whom the contract for four years will be signed will soon be announced.
However, in connection with the protests of the crew and trade unionists, it was decided to extend the protection for employees. This is why One of the conditions that will be placed in the tender will be the obligation to employ them by the Contractor on the basis of an employment contract for a four -year period of the contract.
Currently, the University Clinical Hospital in Wrocław employs over 5,400 employees.
