The new season of Liga debuted on Friday, but the champion en-titre, Barcelona, entered the scene on Saturday, managing to start his way through a right through victory in front of Mallocariscore 3-0.

Real Madrid will debut in the new season only Tuesday evening, when he will receive the visit of Osasuna on Santiago Bernabeu, in a duel that will start at 10:00 pm.

The programming is an atypical one for La Liga, where the parties are usually played between Friday and Monday, with only rare intermediate exceptions during the week, according to Sportal.Blic.rs.

Why does Real Madrid start the new Liga season on a Tuesday?

Typically, Real Madrid disputes its championship parties over the weekend, but this season the program was over the head of the World Club Championship.

Xabi Alonso's band reached the semifinals in the competition in the United States, where he suffered a categorical defeat, 0-4, in front of Paris Saint-Germain.

Thus, the 2024-2025 season was extended for Madrid until July 10, when the players entered the holidays. They met in Madrid on August 4, and the preparation for the new season started just two weeks before the duel with Osasuna.

Real Madrid demanded the postponement of his first championship party, but the request was rejected by both the Liga and the Spanish football federation, which made the final decision. The decision was not at the liking of the Madrilen club.

Finally, the duel with Osasuna was rescheduled for Tuesday, August 19, instead of the weekend, as is usually the case. However, the team's training plans were not changed: “Los Blancos” had established from the beginning the return to training on August 4.

Since then, Real has already checked two verification parties, one with Leganes, disputed with closed gates at the Training Center, and another Tuesday night against the Austrian WSG Tirol band, won by 4-0.

Turning season for Real Madrid

Real Madrid is trying to get over a disappointing season, in which he missed all three major goals: La Liga, Champions League and King Cup.

The expectations are huge with the installation of Xabi Alonso on the Technical Bank, the former midfielder will benefit, according to the Spanish press, of greater influence and freedom than his predecessors, including Carlo Ancelotti.

This summer, Real Madrid invested massively in strengthening the lot, spending over 180 million euros for four important transfers: 10 million for Trent Alexander-Arnold, brought earlier from Liverpool to be used at the World Club Championship, 58 million for the Spanish central defender Dean Huijsen from Bournemouth Carreras from Benfica and 63 million for the talented Argentine Playmaker Franco Massantuono from River Plate.

At the same time, two team veterans, Luka Modric and Lucas Vázquez, said goodbye, leaving behind an impressive record: 51 trophies won together in Madrid.

Thus, summer has made major changes on both the lawn and the locker room, and “Los blancos” are obliged to start with the official debut of the season on Tuesday night.
