The former coach of Burnley and EvertonSean Dyche (54 years old), did not avoid harsh words to Ruben Amorim (40 years), the Portuguese technician of Manchester United, according to Sportal.gr.
After a disappointing 2024-2025 season, started under the command of Erik Ten Hag and ended with Ruben Amorim on the bench, Manchester United had a false start in the new season.
The “red devils” started in the new season of Premier League with a defeat on “Old Trafford”, score 0-1, in front of Arsenal. The only goal of the match was scored by Riccardo Calafiori.
Sean Dyche criticizes Ruben Amorim for the results recorded on Manchester United's bench: “It is clear that something is not going”
Sean Dyche, the former coach, among others, Watford, Burnley and Everton, commented on the mandate of Ruben Amorim at Manchester United. He said that if he were on the “red devils” bench, he would have managed to get more wins than the current Portuguese coach.
“I may be criticized for what I say, but I bet I would get more wins with this team if I play in a 4-4-2. There is always talk about the philosophy of Ruben Amorim, but the reality is that it does not work.
It is acceptable that things do not work after five or ten matches, but when you reach 20 games and the problems persist, it is obvious that something is not going well, “said Sean Dyche in the Tipy Tappy Football podcast.
“On the one hand, I appreciate the fact that he insists and tries to remain faithful to his ideas. However, we are talking about Manchester United, a club where the pressure to succeed is huge. Normally, a coach would not survive so much in such a situation.
Ruben Amorim has benefited more time than most, and if we look at the example of Pep Guardiola, he immediately demonstrated results and a clear direction, ”added Sean Dyche.

In his first season, Guardiola made many changes in the lot, tried several game systems and ended the 13 -point championship behind the leader. If he were at Real Madrid, he would probably have been dismissed immediately.
But he learned from mistakes and, in the next season, he managed to win the Premier League.
