An important document signed in the USA. “Means a reduction in the role of Moscow in the region”

Memorandum, signed by Prime Minister Armenia Nikola Paszyniana and President Azerbaijan Ilham Alijew provides a future peace agreement. Under the document The parties accepted the durability of borders recognized by the international community. The main dispute was Górski Karabach, which, although formally belonged to Azerbaijan, was in practice controlled by Armenians for years. Over the past few years, Azerbaijan has regained armed control over this region, and Armenia remained without the expected support from Russia, hence the return to the western solutions of the conflict.

Trump Route instead of Fort Trump
The agreement in Washington also includes findings regarding the creation of a new communication route – the so -called Zangezurski corridor. The route, officially called Tripp (Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity), will connect the main part of Azerbaijan with its exclava Nachichevan, running through the territory of Armenia. The American-E “consortium is to be responsible for controlling this trail.
At the same time, Azerbaijan demands a change in the Armenia constitution, in which Górski Karabach is mentioned as part of the Armenian heritage. The authorities in Yerevan are considering introducing corrections, but the prime minister Paszynian emphasized that a possible change would have to be approved in a nationwide referendum. In Armenia, opinions on new arrangements are divided.
The Washington Memorandum, however, shows the changing balance of power in the area. “It is America's entry into the next zone of influence, which is also a guarantee of the implementation of the memorandum. The agreement means a reduction in the role of Moscow in the region. Russia has ambitions to counteract this process, but its capabilities are small, “he says Ruben Mehrabian, a political scientist from Yerevan, which is quoted by the CIS.
