The Ministry of Justice is considering a kind of termination of the current National Council by a resolution of the Sejm and reactivating the composition of the National Court Register before PiS reforms. This is to be a method to circumvent the president's likely veto to statutory changes – we read in Monday's “Rzeczpospolita”.

“In connection with the expected presidential vet” to potential statutory changes in the National Council of the Judiciary, the Ministry of Justice is looking for the editorial office of an “alternative path” to introduce reforms in the National Court Register. “As we agreed, such searches are ongoing, they are consulted with judges who would directly cover these changes,” we read.
According to the conversation of “Rzeczpospolita” with the judge, a member of the National Court Register until 2018, MS considers “a specific reactivation of the judicial part of the last, correctly selected National Council of the Judiciary, which operated until March 2018.” “As he explains (judge-PAP), the solution to the judicial part of the so-called neo-krs by the Sejm is being considered. The concept that was presented to him assumes that the so-called neo-krs would be abolished by a resolution of the Sejm stating the invalidity of the election of its referee members,” the editors supplement.
“Information about the department's intentions is confirmed by another judge, who knows the situation in the Ministry of Justice, as he says, the scenario of a kind of abolition of the so -called neo -krs resolution of the Sejm was discussed in the judicial environment, and Waldemar Żurek was to be one of his intercession,” reads.
However, Rzeczpospolita indicates that not all were members of the National Court Register confirming that so far the Ministry of Justice “would” poll their readiness to return to the council. “
“It is worth noting that at the time of the entry into force of the amendment to the Act on the National Court Register of December 2017, which shortened the term of office of the then council, only 13 out of 15 places falling to the judges were planted. The term of office of two of them ended just before the change of regulations and their places were not planted. From these 13 judges, three of them went into a rest, one judge died, and one judge (Katarzyna Goner), and one person ceased to be. judge (Waldemar Żurek).
