Ukraine has regained six villages from a strategic sector in the east of the country, localities that Russian units had captured in the last days following an advance in the area, writes AFP.

The announcement regarding the recovery of the six villages was made by a unit to the Ukrainian army, in the context in which Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin meet in Alaska to discuss the possible conclusion of the Ukraine war.

The first body of the Azov National Guard said that the Ukrainian troops managed to “stop the enemy's advance” in the Pokrovsk area, a mining city that was the epicenter of battles, and that six villages were recovered.

The Ukrainian army announced the other days that she was engaged in heavy fights near Pokrovsk and Dobropilia, on the front of East Ukraine, and sent reservations to get the advance of Russian troops.

This is when the Russian army has achieved a sudden piercing near the mining city of Dobropilia, an offensive that could follow the pressure on Kiev before the Summit between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin.
