Nicușor Dan is missing from the festivities organized to Constanța on the Day of the Romanian Navy. The Minister of Defense: “It's in a period of holidays”

The Minister of Defense, Ionuț Mosteanu, said that President Nicușor Dan was informed that he would not be present at the festivities in Constanța, but the minister said that the head of state “will be with Romanians elsewhere”.
Ionuț Moșteanu said, quoted by Agerpres, that President Nicușor Dan is “in a period of holidays”, which is why the head of state is missing from the festivities in Constanța organized on the occasion of the Romanian Navy Day.
“The president announced that he will not come to the Zua Marine today, it is in a period of holidays, he is in the country, he will be with Romanians elsewhere, you will see during today. It is his decision, which I respect,” said the Minister of Defense.
Mosteanu added that Nicușor Dan “understands very well” the importance of the army.
“I have had many discussions, in these almost two months since I am a minister, with the president. He is directly involved in the planning part and in the endowment part, in everything that means the Romanian army. He is a supreme commander with whom I am proud,” said Ionuț Moșteanu.
Officials such as Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan, Defense Minister Ionuț Mosteanu, and Cristian Diaconescu, the Chairman's coordinator of the president participated in Constanța.

Diaconescu read the message of President Nicușor Dan on the occasion of the festivities in Constanța.
“The day of the Romanian Navy is one of the soul holidays of our nation. The ceremonies that have become traditional at the Black Sea bank bring together Romanians from all over the country to enjoy the festivities prepared in honor of our sailors.
Nicușor Dan believes that the day of the Navy is “a day of national unity”, because “this special moment manages to bring us closer wherever we are.”
“Our sailors are the ones who wear the tricolor pavilion on the seas and oceans of the world. That's why, we celebrate today and extraordinary people dedicated to this career, but we honor the symbols of our nation. As long as we stand together around our national values. It will be better for Romania ”, according to the President's message.
He also had a message for sailors: “Far from the country, family and friends, you are dedicated to a difficult profession. Therefore, I thank you, and those close to the sacrifices you have to do. I urge you to keep your courage and wear with devotion and dignity the flag of Romania,”
Former President Klaus Iohannis participated during his mandates in the festivities organized every year on the occasion of Marine Day. In 2021, he attracted the attention in particular and due to the outfit he chose to carry, but also given the political context at that time, as the then prime minister, Florin Cîțu, was at the center of controversies.
