At least five explosives have been found since the beginning of the holidays on popular Portuguese beaches located near Lisbon.


Until Tuesday, Portugal Navy gave the media information about explosives, which were found in the Comporta resort and on the popular Penedo and Bicas beaches in the Sesimbry region. In all cases, sappers, after securing the found material, carried out its detonation on the beach.
The most explosives, three were found at the beginning of August at the beach at the Comporta resort. Portuguese sappers explained that it is about materials that are used in war, but as they pointed out, found on the beach brought by ocean waves.

According to the Navy, explosives appearing on the beaches are related to the location of Portugal near the trails, which often move units of war fleets of different countries.
It was appealed to sunbathers to inform sea rescuers about them in the event of a suspiciously looking objects at the beach or call national police services.
