The leaders of the US, Ukraine and the European would have already discussed, during today's conversation, about possible locations for a future trilateral meeting between Trump, Putin and Zelenski, reports Reuters, citing a source familiar with the subject.

Possible locations include cities in Europe and the Middle East, the source for Reuters said.

Donald Trump, Volodimir Zelenski and European leaders attended a virtual meeting hosted by Germany on Wednesday two days before the US president met in Alaska with Vladimir Putin.

The European leaders welcomed the discussion with the US President, saying that “mostly they share” the goals of the meeting on Friday, starting with a cessation of fire in Ukraine. Both German Chancellor Friedrich Merz and French President Emmanuel Macron have transmitted the European common position according to which decisions about Ukraine cannot be made without the participation of Ukraine, pleading to involve it in any final decision.

In addition, Macron said Trump will “fight” for organizing a trilateral meeting with Putin and Zelenski, which could take place in Europe.

According to the French leader, Trump said that Ukraine should be involved in the discussions on the territories, in any cease to cease with Russia.

After the meeting in video conference, the White House leader also stated that if his meeting on Friday with Russian President Vladimir Putin will go well, he would like to organize “immediately” a second meeting in which the Ukrainian president Volodimir Zelenski also attended.

“I had a very good discussion,” Trump said about today's online meeting with Zelenski and European leaders.

“He participated in the conversation. President Zelenski participated in the call. I would note her with note ten, you know, very, very friendly,” Trump said.

He added that he wants the second meeting to take place “almost immediately” between Putin and Zelenski “and I, if they want to be present,” according to AFP.

The discussions, considered of great importance, take place in the context in which Donald Trump is trying to intermediate the conclusion of the war that Russia has been in Ukraine for almost three and a half years. Zelenski and his European allies urged the Republican to insist on a cessation of fire. An intensified Russian offensive and the fact that Zelenski was not invited to the Friday meeting in Anchorage amplified the fears that Trump and Putin could reach an agreement to impose Ukraine painful concessions, the source mentioned above.
