Meteorologists have issued new yellow code warnings for Thursdays and Fridays. Affected by the canicular weather will be about half of the country, according to the National Meteorological Administration (ANM).
The first yellow code for heat is in effect on Thursday, August 14, from 12:00 to 9:00 pm. The affective areas are Maramureș, Crișana, Banat, most of Transylvania, western and southern Oltenia. Here are expected “very high temperatures, heat and high thermal diconfort”, according to ANM.
The maximum temperatures will be between 33 and 37 degrees, with the highest values in the western regions.

The second heat code comes into force on Friday, in the same time interval, and the affected areas will be Maramureș, Crișana, Banat, Oltenia, in most Transylvania, in the western, center and south of Muntenia.
“The temperature-humidity index (ITU) will easily exceed the critical threshold of 80 units in the western and north-western regions and isolated in the southern and southeast. The maximum temperatures will be between 33 and 37 degrees, with the highest values in the western and southwest regions,” according to ANM.

On Saturday, the heat wave, the highly high temperatures, the heat and high thermal discomfort will persist in the west, southwest and local in the center of the country.
