The trade unionists accuse “defective management” and warn about the collapse of the Romanian Post. The reaction of the general manager: “It is a natural thing”

The president of the Union of Postal Workers in Romania (SLPR), Florin Daniel Gheorghiu, claims that the Romanian Post is pushed to collapse due to the defective management of the general manager, Valentin Stefan.

In a press conference organized on Friday, August 8, the trade union leader accused that month by month, postal structures are abolished, including in rural areas, where a single postal factor gets to serve up to six localities.
“The post offices are closed, and when you disappear from the market, the competition takes your place. There are also effects of defective management. These days the regional deposits in Ploiesti are closed, Constanta follows. When these deposits are closed, the post will enter a collapse”, said Florin Daniel Gheorghiu, quoted by Agerpres.
The trade unionist warns that the closure of the deposits where the centralized purchases for essential materials are made – from paper to toner – will seriously affect the technological flow of the company.
The reply of the general manager: “It is a natural thing”
Contacted by journalists, the general director of the National Company Romanian Post, Valentin Stefan, rejected the accusations and explained that the cancellation of postal structures is part of a normal administrative process, related to the relocation of work points when the rental contracts expire or the staff change.
“It is a natural thing, which has always been done in the post and is done now. said Valentin Stefan.
The Union of Postal Workers in Romania is affiliated with the National Trade Union Block (NBS) and announced that it will continue to draw attention to what it calls “The current situation of the activity of the Romanian Post and the abuses committed by the current management of the company”.
