Gen. Garlic on the progress of construction on the border with Russia

General Stanisław Czosnek announced that none of the landowners at the border with Russia had been expropriated.
“No private land has passed into the hands of the Treasury,” he assured. He said that the army acquires and protects land owned by the State Treasury, which are at the disposal of the National Agricultural Support Center.
Agreements that farmers have already concluded with KOWR are not terminated – assured the army. It was stated, however, that if the army needs land that farmers lease in newly concluded contracts, there will be a record that the farmer will have to make such ground to the army.
– Now, if the KOWR area is used by a farmer, we do not occupy it, but we are organizing a storage site nearby – Gen. Czosnek said.
Places are squares where the army accumulates materials, e.g. anti -tank hedgehogs, which, if necessary, can quickly be taken to the areas at the very border. Gen. garlic announced that there are already 43 such squares at the border with Russia.
“In each poviat, poviat storage places will also be built, and in the voivodships of logistics hubs, which will allow us to properly prepare for those tasks that are facing the armed forces, i.e. defense of borders” – added Gen. Czosnek.
“East shield” is a project announced by the Ministry of National Defense and the army in the spring of 2024, which aims to secure borders with Russia and Belarus. The project includes the construction of fortifications, warehouses of various types of equipment, as well as Reconnaissance and anti -done installations, which will be located along the border. To create the “East shield”, not only hedgehog dams, or anti -tank ditches, but also natural elements of the environment will be used, including lakes, swamps or dense forests.
