Head of the state for 10 years after the Revolution and member and Minister of PCR, a close relative of the Ceausescu family, Ion Iliescu has strongly put his mark on Romania of the last half century. From the images in which he was surprised in the entourage of the Ceausescu family, to the photos while he was the president of the country and received Michael Jackson in Bucharest, many were the symbolic moments that had Ion Iliescu in the foreground.

1968 – Ion Iliescu publishes in the magazine “Woman” an article from the position of minister for the problems of the youth.

1990 – Ion Iliescu is elected president of Romania, during a 2 -year term.

June 15, 1990 – Iliescu thanked the thousands of miners gathered in Romexpo after they came to Bucharest and intervened against the protesters in the University Square

1991 – Ion Iliescu designated Theodor Stolojan Premier

1992 – Michael Jackson comes to Bucharest and is received by Ion Iliescu

1995 – Ion Iliescu is received at the White House in the US by Bill Clinton.

2004 -Ion Iliescu, near the end of the second term as President of Romania:

2008 – long after he gave up the PSD chief; Iliescu remained the honorary president of the party

December 1, 2012 – Ion Iliescu participates in the military parade from the Arc de Triomphe on the National Day of Romania

January 2017 – Ion Iliescu leaves the General Prosecutor's Office after he was heard by the military prosecutors in the 'Mining' file, in which he is accused of crimes against humanity.

May 2018 – Iliescu's last public appearance, heard at the General Prosecutor's Office

Ion Iliescu had no public appearance since 2018.
