Mikhail Todurov told the museum “Voices of the peaceful” Foundation of Rinat Akhmetov as war and stress affect the health of the heart

In his practice, Mikhail Todurov came across cases when his heart stopped not only because of his wound, but also because of the unbearable stress caused by the war. In an interview with the Ambasador of the Fund, the Ukrainian presenter Alexei Sukhanov Todurov spoke about a man from Oleski of the Kherson region, who survived the occupation of his hometown and flooding of the Kakhovsky hydroelectric power station. These events led to the fourth heart attack.

“We have done a modern operation. He was with us for three days and, when he was discharged, said:” I am very grateful to you, but I have nowhere to go because my house was flooded there and I have nowhere to live. At least a week needs to solve things, because I have no money or family anymore. “We left it hospitalized for a week. He decided all his affairs, and when he was discharged, we hugged so much that we even cried a little,” Todurov said.

According to the doctor, there are more and more patients with heart problems. He added that the war kills not only on the front line, but also provokes death due to exhaustion, fear and chronic stress.

The doctor explained that many military people do not even know that they have a problematic heart.

“I have to state that I had military with congenital heart defects that were in crazy danger – not from the war itself, but from the fact that their internal problems in the heart became a great threat. When they sat in the trench for more than five days, they had decompensation so that they only called an ambulance and brought them to us where we could save them,” noted the cardiosurgeon.
