The AN-24RV aircraft “Iraero” operated on the route Irkutsk-Chita-Blagoveshchensk-Khabarovsk in August 2011. But when landing at the Blagoveshchensk airport Ignatievo, the crew allowed the slope to the right – and, prematurely decreasing, the aircraft collided with the trees and fell in the forest.
Before the fall, the 29-year-old flight mechanic Immortal on the command of the CVS turned the blades, so that the aircraft turned 90 ° and stopped. The maneuver is made for emergency braking of the vessel after emergency landing. This helped survive 41 people on board – 36 passengers and 5 crew members. As a result, only 12 people were injured.
