Tragedy on the Italian coast: a Romanian died at sea. The last words addressed to friends

A 48-year-old Romanian has lost his life while bathing in Riccione, Italy. His friends were witnesses to his last moments, when he shouted in despair that he was feeling bad.

The seaside holiday of a Romanian established in the Republic of Moldova ended tragically on Monday morning, in the Riccione resort, in Italy. Ivan Popov, 48, died drowned under the eyes of his friends, while bathing on a public beach near the 51st establishment. The Italian authorities opened an investigation to determine exactly what happened.
The last words: “Help, I feel bad”
According to witnesses, Ivan had been in the water for a short time when he began to feel bad. One of the friends who accompanied him noticed that he was moving with difficulty and tried to help him.
“Help, I feel bad“These would have been the last words spoken by Ivan Popov, before losing their knowledge.
His friend immediately tried to resuscitate him, and a lifeguard intervened with a rescue boat to bring him to the shore as quickly as possible. Unfortunately, the medical crew arrived on the spot, from the Italian Emergency Service 118, could do nothing to save life, writes Corriere di Bologna.

The Italian police opened an investigation to determine the exact circumstances of the tragedy. So far, the certain causes of death are not known, and the authorities are going to determine if it is a medical incident, a heart attack or other health problems that would have led to the loss of consciousness and, finally, to death.
Ivan Popov was originally from Romania, but he had been living in the Republic of Moldova for a long time. He was in Riccione on vacation, along with a group of friends.
